New Year’s Resolution Turns Sexy — Part 1/2
I didn’t know what I was getting myself into
New Year, new me, right? That’s always the hope.
I set myself a resolution every year, and every year, I do a pretty good job of sticking to it. I can’t say that I have a perfect record, but over the past five years, I’ve gotten into better shape, started eating more fruits and veggies, started actually drinking water instead of soda and coffee, and started giving myself little treats just to make life better. Again, not perfect, but it’s progress.
This year, I was contemplating my resolution, and I kept coming back to the reality that I was kind of lonely.
I’m so good at my routines, but my routines send me out of the house to work and then back into it. I don’t have much of a social life, and I certainly don’t have scheduled dates with friends. I mean, really, I don’t have a ton of people whom I’d consider friends, and that kind of sucks. I’ve worked on me independently, but not me in the world with people.
So this year, I decided that my New Year’s resolution should be to extend my social circle. Ideally, I wanted to find myself a friend group. Something like the tight-knit fun-loving gang found in TV shows where everyone lives in huge apartments that could never actually exist in the cities…
